Punchlove is a Brooklyn-based band dedicated to pushing the envelope of experimental sonic practices, gearing up a layered bed of pain-pop songs that coalesce around a digitally-stimulated, emotionally-serrated brand of modern shoegaze with their debut album “Channels” (Kanine Records). For the five multi-instrumentalists and audio engineers Jillian Olesen, Ethan Williams, Joey Machina, Ian Lange-McPherson, and visual artist viz_wel, moving into a maze of a house in Brooklyn together was the transition that created the album they had been writing their whole lives. Melding DIY recording and experimental sonic visions with studio quality, Punchlove trades in deeply prepared sounds, sharply honed instrumentals and performs them as a band that knows each other and their craft all the way through.
