Rachika Nayar and Nina Keith join forces as composers, producers, and multi-instrumentalists on the self-titled debut of their new collaborative project Disiniblud (Smugglers Way).
Rachika Nayar and Nina Keith meet on complementary but seemingly disparate musical grounds. On her 2022 breakout LP "Heaven Come Crashing", Nayar departed from her usual ambient guitar in favor of maximalist synths, sub-bass, and flickers of Amen breaks. Her distinct fusion of post-rock and electronica received Pitchfork's Best New Music designation, landed on several best of the year lists (The New York Times, Stereogum, Fader, GQ, Bandcamp, etc), and earned her an an opening slot on tour with M83. Keith, meanwhile, is best known for her self-trained approach to composition, as evident on her 2019 debut MARANASATI 19111 and its delicate medley of cello, piano, clarinet, and flute, used to explore a personal history marked by community tragedy and paranormal incidents. She expands into new territories on recent releases, like the single “Come Back Different” featuring Julie Byrne, by incorporating modular synths and intricate vocal arrangements with the help of various collaborators. Their combined artistic strengths exalt together on Disiniblud.

Rachika Nayar & Nina Keith present Disiniblud
The two artists were first drawn to one another five years ago like mirror images or two sisters reuniting after a lifetime of separation. Rachika and Nina met in Brooklyn's two-block–by–two-block Maria Hernandez Park after fan-girling each other’s music online. Dishing about messy post-lockdown long-distance lesbianism, heartfelt investments in Buddhist and Hindu philosophies, and a shared high-school love of the Eternal Sunshine OST, the two found their surface similarities gesturing toward a deeper shared existential worldview.
This kinship—which Rachika describes originating from some “inner-child sisterhood place”—is the heart of their fairytale-like self-titled LP, due out July 18 via Smugglers Way The two’s self-described “wordless conversation,” the album orbits such themes as mortality, reinvention through destruction, and sublimating fractured histories into music—all resulting in a work that suggests sweeping transformation can come from embracing old wounds with childlike wonder.

The Allegorist
Hailing from the depths of the underground music scene, The Allegorist is a visionary, enigmatic, transmedia, and boundary-pushing artist known for crafting deep, immersive, and dark, intricate sonic tales. Embracing a wide array of influences, weaving together the mysteries, art, philosophy, symbolism, and spirituality, The Allegorist defies categorisation. Inspired by her childhood dream of becoming an archaeologist, she embarks on a perpetual quest to discover the secrets and meanings of the world. Her innate lifelong passion for critical thinking, creation, and discovery laid the foundation for her unique approach, resonating with those who seek the unconventional.
Centered around dark art and speculative fiction, including sci-fi and fantasy, The Allegorist sculpts experimental, cinematic, electronic music, visual art, and metaphorical narratives. Embracing the dualism of light and darkness, past and future, life and death, the art project adopted a holistic mindset, seeking to sail into the unknown, preserve the secret wisdom and timeless teachings, while honouring the ancient values of Earth, human responsibility, and the cycle of life. For an inclusive expression, she crafted her fictional language Mondoneoh, employing symbolism as a method of universal communication, in line with her chosen name The Allegorist, which derives from the word allegory in literature.
With a background as a painter spanning over a decade before venturing into the realm of music, the Hungarian-born, Berlin-based artist Anna Jordan is her own creative director, producer, sound designer, singer, engineer, visual artist, and live performer for her art project The Allegorist. Appreciating the significance of artistic autonomy, she works independently, self-releasing her output primarily via her own imprint Awaken Chronicles. Simultaneously she fosters a diverse collective spirit with like-minded people from all backgrounds and sectors.
