Yegor Zabelov is a very unique Belarusian accordion player. Zabelov devotes his work to exploring the possibilities of the instrument in which he specializes, often reaching its limits. In his hands, the accordion becomes a tool for creating mystical experiences, and performances take the form of a musical ritual.
"Seine Musik ist ein Beweis für die Kraft der Imagination. Zuvor hätte niemand gedacht, dass es möglich ist, Aphex Twin-Sounds auf einem Akkordeon zu erzeugen." - Louder Than War

press:
- „This accordionist who’ll likely hold a room in complete awe, like Colin Stetson can do when he’s in full swing, conjures saturated, haunting, intense soundscapes on his instrument. The live recordings we’ve heard thus far tear up all pre-conceptions of what an accordion-led band would sound like.” - Gigwise.
- "Zabelov finds a mindmap between traditional accordion playing and post-rave, beatless soundscapes. His music is a testament to the power of the imagination. No-one would imagine that making Aphex Twin-like ambient noises on an accordion was possible." - Louder Than War
LIJEL
„The way of using my voice as an instrument i call improvisation intuitiva. The improvised singing reflects our aesthetic character, self-image and self-confidence. It reflects our identity. And even if feeling totally free in using your voice and adding it intuitively in your own form, one´s sound will still contain personal behavior patterns and beliefs in the permission or non-permission to simply act and how to act. And the nice thing is, you can expand this field just as you can expand your information and communication field.“
A voice is a voice is a voice is a voice.. and is not just a voice. LIJEL´s roots lay in Slavic/Bulgarian choral singing taught by her mother and grandmother. With main focus on Vocal Improvisation implementing Urlaute, whispered or screamed spoken words, expanding patterns through delays she catches the attention of the listeners ears. The combination of Ney Flute and Gusle are woven into her Live Sets as well as Tanpura Drone with multiple modulations can be.
Breaking genre boundaries with her vocal improvisations, which unfold like a storm through gentle lute patterns, combined with found metal pieces and piezo microphones which are hunted through multiple Modulations. LIJEL has studied Mixed Media & Acoustic at the HFBK in Hamburg and is currently finishing her MA Degree in electronic Music Composition.
