Emerging from the beaches of Byron Bay, Australia, now relocated to Berlin, The Dharma Chain founded in 2020, released their debut album "Nowhere" (Anomic Records) in June 2024. The Dharma Chain has gained an international profile, standing out as one of the most unique and prominent bands blending shoegaze, post-punk, and neo-psychedelia. Having played numerous shows all over Europe and Australia, including festivals such as Fusion , Sharpe and Yonder, while also sharing the stage with bands like The Underground Youth and Mildlife.
Emerging from the beaches of Byron Bay, Australia, and now thriving in Berlin, The Dharma Chain, founded in 2020, have shared their music with audiences around the globe, pushing musical boundaries and redefining the psychedelic experience.
Their live performance delivers a distinctive, unconventional approach with no singular ‘Lead Vocalist’. Members are seamlessly switching positions, creating a dynamic and ever-evolving stage presence. This collaborative ethos infuses their vocals with harmonious balance and an enchanting auditory tapestry.
Their debut studio album ‘NOWHERE,’ released by Anomic Records, has gained significant recognition, including feature album of the week on multiple radio stations and airplay on 2Ser, 3RRR, Sonidos y Sonidos, RDU FM, PBS, 4ZZZ, Edge Radio, and Byron Bay FM. It has also received coverage from The AU Review, Metal Magazine, Psychedelic Baby Magazine, and Post Punk. A collection of 10 tracks blending songs from both their original sessions in an abandoned church in the Gold Coast Hinterland and later sessions in a Berlin basement studio. The album ranges from abrasive and apocalyptic to vulnerable and soft, reflecting the band’s journey from Australia to Berlin.
