"Fórn is another band that’s left us longing for a new release, since their 2018 record 'Rites of Despair.' But the ensuing years of conquest, war, pestilence, and death have only served to make this band’s sound more magical and brutal... With the addition of Lane Shi Otayonii, they’re produced an opus that’s layered and impactful: Repercussions of the Self released in October 2024 by Persisten Vision Records." (CVLT Nation)

Fórn
Formed in 2012 in a particularly dismal and harsh winter in Boston MA, FÓRN draws inspiration from their predecessors, Grief, Burning Witch and Asunder, while remaining true to their natural progression. The suffocating darkness and soul crushing heaviness of their music is starkly evident as FÓRN channels its will to create cavernous wells of sludging doom atmosphere to create their unique brand of cerebral funeral sludge.
They have released several albums, EPs and splits over the past 12 years teaming up with highly respected labels, Gilead Media and Vendetta Records. In 2014 their debut LP, “The Departure of Consciousness” (released via Vendetta Records & Gilead Media), took the doom and metal world by surprise, garnering instant critical acclaim and bringing them to play prestigious festivals, stages, and even a cave, all around the world.
FÓRN’s members are spread across 4 different states and 2 different countries, U.S. & Germany.
After years of quiet plotting, FÓRN are set to return with a brand new LP entitled Repercussions of the Self, the group’s first new music since 2018’s Rites of Despair (Gilead Media). Building upon their brand of “Funeral Sludge”, R.O.T.S. sees FÓRN enter new territory, creating a mix of the downtuned guitar-driven epics the band is known for with a new, industrial, electronic element, resulting in a progressive turning point for the band. Notably, the record features Lane Shi Otayonii (Elizabeth Colour Wheel) on vocals/electronics across all tracks as a contributing member. Additional collaborations on the record include Josh (Ilsa/Integrity) on drums and guest vocals from Orion (Ilsa) as well. The record was engineered with Kevin Bernsten at Developing Nations in Baltimore, Maryland and mastered by James Plotkin of Plotkinworks. Repercussions of the Self was released by Persistent Vision Records in October 2024.

ORYX
is a Denver-based doom/sludge metal band comprised of Thomas Davis (vocals, guitars, synth), Abigail Davis (drums), and Joshua Kauffman (bass). ORYX is a monolithic force, characterized by thick, suffocating riffs, pulverizing drums, and vocals that seep into the listener's psyche like a toxic sludge.
Formed in 2012 by husband-and-wife duo, Thomas and Abigail Davis, ORYX has carved out a path of its own in the underground metal scene. Over the span of the previous decade, the band has seamlessly blended layers of blackened doom, atmospheric sludge, death metal, and black metal across four full length albums. Their intense performance has earned slots on countless US festivals, in addition to serving as direct support for notable acts like Electric Wizard, Candlemass, and Sleep. Each release has seen the band become more ambitious and refined in their unique brand of unrelenting sonic assault. As a two-piece, ORYX released its debut album, Widowmaker (2014), ORYX/Languish split LP (2016), and Stolen Absolution (2018). With the addition of a bassist in 2018, ORYX dove into a darker and heavier realm with the release of Born into Madness (2018) and Lamenting a Dead World (2021). Their latest offering and quintessential fourth studio album, Primordial Sky (2024) delivers the band’s pinnacle achievement thus far.
ORYX’s magnum opus, Primordial Sky, is a cathartic journey through the darkest corners of the human experience, exhuming themes of introspective exploration of life, death, and the cosmos. Each song showcases ethereal, massive riffs, intertwined with gripping solos and searing vocals. Amidst a mood of profound contemplation, the lyrics delve into subjects capturing the struggle of mortality and existence. With a penchant for creating an oppressive atmosphere, Primordial Sky delivers slow-burning behemoths that ascend to staggering crescendos. ORYX is the sonic embodiment of desolation, a monolithic wall of sound that demands to be experienced at full volume.
